With The Green Parts Specialists now part of the Copart Family, our total owned UK wide logistics fleet now stands at circa. 500, so we’re passionate about playing our part wherever we can by utilising the latest tech innovations.
In line with our Plan-Net-Zero sustainability commitment, our entire fleet is Euro VI and DVS (Direct Vision Standard) compliant and kitted out with the latest connected telematics and vision standards camera systems, to ensure optimal efficiency and significantly lower fuel consumption and emissions.
Our Transportation Control Centre, based at our Customer Excellence Centre in Bedford, plays a vital role, using this innovative technology to ensure we are maximising the operational capabilities of our UK-wide transport fleet whenever vehicles are collected.
State of the art route scheduling technology alongside real time road data, and constant communication with our drivers, all work together seamlessly to give the team a complete view of any obstacles and allows them to map out the most efficient and intelligent routes.
And using comprehensive driver behaviour telematics data, we can not only improve long-term fleet sustainability, but we are actively reducing our emissions, road miles, and maintenance costs. It also enables us to identify areas where we can improve driving efficiency and fuel consumption.
We also know that a one size fits all approach is both unrealistic and wasteful. So, with transporters of all different shapes and sizes, from single car to seven cars, we can tailor our collections to provide the most fuel-efficient option.
But it’s not just our own carbon footprint we’re reducing, we’re also helping to reduce our Members’ environmental impact through our Virtual Viewings, enabling them to inspect the vehicles they are interested in from the comfort of their home or office.
Members can book a Whatsapp video call, where a Copart teammate will provide a tour of the vehicle and answer any questions. Members still get to enjoy a personal one-on-one customer experience, while also reducing their carbon emissions as they will no longer need to drive to the Operation Centre. (Not to mention fuel and time!)
