Copart’s New JCB Loaders – Updated & Upgraded!

by | Jul 12, 2023

As part of our investment into an ongoing fleet replacement and expansion programme, we’ve been busy upgrading our vehicle loaders to enhance our EV handling capabilities and further boost our ‘Greenest Fleet on the Street’ strategy.

We continually strive to improve what we do for our customers and our 400+ strong transport fleet is key to that ambition.

Our continued investment into new JCB loaders, which are critical for safely moving our customers’ vehicles, enables us to handle increasing volumes and supports our future needs as we acquire new land and develop existing Operation Centres.

Aligned Values

We have a well-established and trusted relationship with Watling JCB Limited (one of the largest JCB sole franchises in the world) whose environmental values are strongly aligned to our own.

  • This enables us to collaborate on the production of future build orders to ensure that we achieve our sustainability goals.
  • We are focused on building a fleet with the highest standard of vehicle handling efficiencies.
  • Our relationship with JCB is key to future-proofing our transport fleet to ensure that it is both efficient and environmentally friendly.

Green Fleet

With sustainability the focal point of our future fleet strategy, we’ve invested into new JCB loaders that use the very latest technology and fuel methods to minimise environmental impact and reduce carbon footprint.

  • Energy efficiency is a key focus for JCB, and they have now launched their first fully electric machines alongside the continued pursuit of cleaner diesel engine technology.
  • Future collaboration will be focused on exploring lower emission options, including alternative fuels and renewable energy, for future orders.

Operational Excellence

We’ve recently placed an order for a further 75 new JCB loaders with upgraded lifting capabilities to support the ever-growing car parc of electric vehicles. EVs are significantly heavier than the average petrol or diesel car due to the weight of the battery packs.

  • New loaders are being deployed across Copart’s UK-wide Operation Centres as just one strand of our overall strategic investment plans into our operational capabilities.
  • Features include upgraded load capacity, providing increased lifting capability to safely and competently handle heavier electric vehicles.

Technology

Technology plays a major role in everything we do at Copart, so we’ve been working with Vision Track to install the same connected camera systems to our loaders that we already have as standard across our transporter fleet.

  • These cameras give us the ability to access live images, monitor activity in real time, and instantly retrieve footage.
  • Keeps health and safety at the forefront our operations whilst protecting our customers’ valuable assets.
  • Our loaders are also monitored remotely by JCB, using their Livelink Telemetry System to access online machine health information and keep our loaders in optimum condition.
  • Daily reports show the exact service status and location of each machine, so that JCB engineers can attend at the first sign of any potential issues.
