More Sites and Even More Capacity for Extreme Weather Response

As the UK car parc and climate keep changing, so does our landbank, providing safe EV handling areas, emergency storage capacity for weather-related events, and housing our growing number of additional services.

The ongoing effects of climate change have caused weather to become more extreme and unpredictable. Over the past year, we’ve seen increasing numbers of storms, heavier rainfall, and treacherous conditions on the roads caused by snow and ice.

Our ongoing Land & Expand strategy to acquire new sites and expand existing ones, ensures that we can always be there for our customers and their policyholders to collect, handle, and store vehicles quickly and efficiently, whatever the situation.

Last year we announced new Operation Centres in Andover, Chelmsford, and Dunfermline. These sites are now under development, and we anticipate them to be fully operational by next year.

And 2025 is set to be another year of exciting site announcements as we set the wheels in motion to expand our Operation Centres in Chester and Peterlee.

This will enable us to get even closer to our customers and communities across Northern Ireland and north, west, and central areas of England.

And, with sustainability always a priority, the strategic expansion of our operational network will help to reduce road miles for our customers, buyers, and transport fleet.

But of course, we’re not only future proofing our sites to handle the aftermath of extreme weather events.

We’re also ensuring that we have the necessary space to safely accommodate the growing number of electric and hybrid vehicles, which have more complex tech, more potential hazards, and heavier weights than ICE vehicles.

This sector continues to grow at pace, with over 700k electric vehicles expected on the roads by 2029, and the continuous expansion of our landbank is a vital aspect of our preparation.

Alongside this, we’ve been upgrading our transport to handle increased weights and upskilling our people to ensure the safe handling, assessment, maintenance and resale of these specialist vehicles.

Always looking to the future. Always anticipating our customers’ needs. Always moving forward.
