At Copart, we’re committed to continuously improving what we do and how we do it, to create a frictionless customer experience.
Alongside our patented online auction technology, we have developed a completely contactless digital journey for both our Sellers and Buyers. This year alone, we’ve invested in the development of collection and delivery Apps, dynamic route scheduling software, and have implemented integrated, connected technology for our transport fleet.
Many of our technological advancements have benefited our existing Members throughout the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, including a completely contactless process, which has enabled Members to safely continue purchasing and collecting vehicles.
In the latest strand of our tech development, we’ve taken the opportunity to focus on attracting new Members to join our ever-expanding global buyer base, which currently spans over 110 countries.
The ongoing effects of Covid-19 have had a significant impact on buyer behaviour, with trends indicating a downturn in new car sales as the focus shifts across to more cost-effective options in the used car market, which also tick the box for those concerned with using public transport.
This new wave of demand for used cars – which is 15% higher than this time last year according to recent data published – has increased pressure on vehicle retailers to source and supply stock quickly to meet their customers’ expectations.
This has made Copart membership an even more attractive option to an even wider audience than before, who are looking to utilise our extensive inventory which offers thousands of vehicles at auction every day.
With this in mind, we have recently made some enhancements to our online Member registration, streamlining the process to make it even quicker and simpler for buyers around the globe to sign up and access our unrivalled selection of used and salvage vehicles.
In just three simple steps, potential new Members can sign up for Copart Membership, in just sixty seconds.
Alongside a shorter and simplified registration form, we have recently extended our accepted payment methods to include Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal, and have developed an improved document upload system for Members to provide their proof of ID.
And, behind the scenes, our digital marketing experts are regularly analysing website data to understand our Members and their requirements, creating in-depth buyer profiles and developing targeted direct marketing campaigns to suit.
David House, Membership Director at Copart, said:
“In today’s world, customers want fast and efficient service, and don’t want to spend precious time filling out long and complicated forms, which could put them off completing the process. By streamlining our Member registration process, it is now possible to sign up in as little as sixty seconds, whilst still allowing us to perform our robust member validation procedures.
This enhanced registration process, alongside our utilisation of the latest digital marketing tools to drive website traffic and optimise visibility, has already resulted in a 53% year-on-year increase in new Member registrations. This is fantastic news for our Sellers who will benefit from reaching an ever-growing global buyer base, which of course has played a major part in the increased sales returns our Sellers have seen from our auctions.”
