We’re pleased to announce a range of brand-new onsite services and additional capacity for our customers following the most recent phase of expansion at Copart’s Super Centre in Bristol.
Following the opening of our new sustainable and environmentally friendly office building in March, as part of our ongoing Plan-Net-Zero sustainability commitment, we’ve now completed the next stage of our ongoing expansion and improvement plans at this site.
The plan, which has been in development since 2019, forms part of the Copart’s wider multi-faceted re-investment strategy to meet growing demand from our customers.
Improvements include vehicle preparation and valeting areas, where state-of-the-art technology is used to inspect and image vehicles, and specialist facilities for the handling of EVs and HEVs. These new capabilities enable us to keep growing our customer offering and operational capabilities to further service our customer needs.
The team have also been busy planting trees in the new bio-diversity spaces across our site which have been designed to improve air quality and encourage nature and biodiversity.
With further land development still ongoing, this site is set to become a 63-acre Copart ‘Super Centre’ for the Southwest by the end of 2023, offering the potential to bring a wide range of new job opportunities to the Bristol area.
Toff Ahmed, Copart’s Regional Manager for the Southwest, said:
“With additional land development set to continue, alongside many more exciting new facilities and features in the pipeline, Our Super Centre in Bristol will be the future prototype for our larger sites as we continue our investment programme in line with the growing and changing needs of both our buyers and sellers.”
Phil Briggs, Director of Operation Centres, Engineering & Transport, added:
“This is just one of many exciting projects Copart has in motion to both acquire more land and further expand and improve infrastructure, technology, and operational capabilities at our existing Operation Centres across the UK.
In addition to our recent acquisition of Hills Salvage & Recycling – The Green Parts Specialist, we will be further strengthening our unrivalled UK wide storage capacity by opening a new site in East Kilbride, and extending our existing sites including Peterlee, Sandy, and Wisbech. Once completed, we will have the ability to process around 1 million vehicles per annum.”
