Driving Progress in Sustainability Across Our Sector

It was a pleasure to be part of the panel for Admiral-hosted event ‘Creating a Circular Economy for Good’ at Wales Week/London in February.

Alongside Autoglass and Steer Automotive Group, we explored how more circular approaches can deliver solutions that work for people, planet, and business, and shared our experience in vehicle recycling and green parts.

To our very core, we are proud to be a circular economy engine. Everything we do keeps vehicles and parts in use for longer, which means less waste, lower carbon impact, and better results for insurers, buyers, and the wider automotive industry.

Across our integrated ecosystem of Copart, CashForCars, The Green Parts Specialists, and U-Pull-It, we enable the reuse and recycling of millions of vehicles each year.

This creates a continuous flow of resources that supports lower carbon and lower waste outcomes for insurers, buyers, and the wider automotive sector.

We deliver on a whole host of major circular economy principles — from reuse and repair all the way through to recycle, recover, rethink, and redistribute.

By keeping vehicles and their parts circulating for longer, we help to reduce the need for new manufacturing and offer insurers meaningful financial and environmental benefits.

As electric vehicles become more common, insurers are struggling with higher repair costs and uncertainty around batteries. It is a big opportunity for us to step up as the UK’s trusted partner for EV recovery, repair, and recycling.

With EV-safe facilities, battery testing partnerships, second life battery channels, and specialised buyer networks, we can help insurers cut claim costs and manage EV risks with confidence.

Looking ahead, we know there is enormous potential for us to lead the way in circular mobility in the UK.

We are actively developing materials recovery collaborations, carbon avoidance reporting, and circularity dashboards that our insurers can rely on.

We are determined to reinforce our role in supporting a lower carbon and more resource efficient automotive future and we look forward to being part of more conversations that drive forward progress in sustainability across our sector.
