We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant General Manager at our Operation Centre in Wolverhampton, with a salary of £32,000 -£35,000.

Leadership is a key attribute, as you’ll be supporting the General Manager to lead a team of around 80 employees.

You’ll find yourself involved with a range of operational and administrative tasks that help the smooth running of the Operation Centre, including compliance with Copart policies and procedures and the security and maintenance of the building, grounds and equipment.

You’ll also need to have a good head for numbers, as you’ll be expected to help manage the budget, ensuring profitable and efficient performance for the Operation Centre.

Wolverhampton is one of 15 Operation Centres based strategically across the UK…and at over 40 acres, it is also one of our largest sites.

Our Operation Centres are the central hubs of our business, receiving and processing hundreds of vehicles every day; which come in from a variety of sources including many of the world’s leading insurance, finance, fleet and rental companies, as well as independent dealerships.

Across Copart UK, we handle over 400,000 vehicles each year and our customers trust us to deliver them the best possible returns. The smooth running of our Operation Centres is essential to achieving this, and the Assistant General Manager plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement and storage of customer vehicles all the way through from collection to sale.

To be right for this role, you’ll also need to be a people-person and a great communicator, capable of managing and motivating the team at Wolverhampton.

This includes carrying out performance reviews, providing training, support and guidance to the team to assist their personal development.

One thing I can say about Copart is every day is different and that’s one of the main reasons I really enjoy working here. There are never really two days the same and I’m always taking on new challenges.

You need to be an efficient multi-tasker for this role, as you’ll get involved in many different things including recruiting new staff, implementing new processes and dealing with complaints – the list can go on for miles! I’d say my biggest motivators are achieving our service and performance targets whilst making sure I have a happy and productive team.
