As our strapline says, we’re always moving forward. That includes our ongoing Land & Expand strategy, where we’re acquiring more land to develop new Operation Centres and extending and improving existing sites.
With an ever-changing UK car parc and an increasing level of extreme weather events, we continue to review, plan and invest in our operational infrastructure to ensure we are always positioned to service our customers no matter the demand.
This enables us to support our customers with growth, offer secure storage space for increased volumes following floods, storms, and other unexpected events, and provide enlarged areas for vehicles that may require specialist handling like EVs, HEVs, and flood and fire damage.
Careful and considered positioning of our sites is critical, with a strong focus on areas of the country that are seeing rapid growth and increased levels of housing development.
This year alone, we’ve opened the doors at Copart Gloucester and announced yet more new Operation Centres in Chelmsford (Essex) and Andover (Hampshire), providing key locations for us to handle future demand and further strengthen our unrivalled operational capabilities.
We are always prepared for the unexpected and are proud to have established a proven reputation as experts in emergency response, and the safe and efficient handling of electric vehicles.
We’re determined to get even closer to our customers and communities so that we can always be there when needed to collect, handle, and store vehicles quickly whatever the situation.
Doing this with minimal environmental impact is an important factor. From a sustainability perspective, expanding our operational network will contribute towards reducing road miles for our customers, buyers, and transport fleet.
And as our landbank continues to grow, we’ve retained over 155 acres of green space across the UK, and we’re passionate about working in harmony with nature while keeping a balance between company growth and our ecosystems
Here’s a look back on what we’ve achieved in the last year alone…
- New Copart Operation Centres in Corby, East Kilbride, and Gloucester are now open with St Helen’s coming soon!
- We’ve expanded our sites in Bristol, Hixon, Peterlee, and Sandtoft.
- Plans for more new Operation Centres have been announced in Chelmsford and Andover.
- Our landbank has reached over 1,000 acres across the UK.
- We’ve continued to invest in our nationwide owned fleet and now have in excess of 500 vehicles.
