As part of our Copart Cares commitment, we’re continuing to support registered charity Open Road West Norfolk by loaning vehicles on which trainees can learn modern mechanical engineering techniques.
Our latest delivery of vehicles recently arrived at Open Road’s workshop and we’re delighted to be making this positive contribution to such an important cause.
Open Road West Norfolk provides training to young people who have an interest in motor vehicles but may be experiencing difficulties with mainstream education, helping them to gain recognised qualifications and improved employment opportunities.
Copart has been a proud supporter of Open Road West Norfolk since 2013, loaning vehicles on an annual basis for students to work on and gain practical hands-on mechanical skills. The students use Copart’s vehicles to learn more about a range of mechanical aspects on modern automotive technology.
With a reported skills gap in the vehicle repair side of the automotive industry, it is more important now than ever for us to support young people with an interest in this area and ensure that we have a long-term sustainable workforce for the future.
Jane Pocock, CEO of Copart UK & Ireland, said:
“We’re proud to say that by supporting the fantastic work of Open Road West Norfolk for over a decade, we’re playing our part to help attract and engage young people into an automotive career path, as they are the future of the industry.”
Martin Slater, Managing Director of Open Road West Norfolk, added:
“Everyone involved in the charity is very grateful for Copart’s invaluable and unstinting support over a number of years.”
