As primary sponsor of Saintfield United FC, Copart Belfast’s Ricky McCaughran proudly attended the recent launch of the club’s new five-year Development Plan.
Copart has sponsored SUFC (a community football club in Saintfield, County Down, local to our Operation Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland) since 2018.
We’ve continued to support their ambitious growth plans as they seek to expand and provide an enhanced sports facility for the benefit of the wider Saintfield community.
As part of our ongoing Copart Cares 💙 CSR commitment, we like to play an active role in supporting local communities and good causes, so our sponsorship of SUFC has been a perfect way for us to achieve this.
Since its creation nearly 50 years ago, SUFC’s objective has been to provide people in Saintfield and the wider community with excellent facilities to participate in amateur football. The club currently provides opportunities for approximately 300 male and female players across eight different teams, including senior, junior, and mini soccer.
The new Development Plan focuses on maximising facilities over the next five years to grow participation numbers, volunteers, and the ongoing success of the club. This includes providing more events and activities, and achieving maximum returns from any facility investments, to ensure that the club remains a focal point for the local community.
Andrew Bishop, Chairman of Saintfield United FC, said:
“Saintfield United is more than a football club. It is a community. Since the club was founded in 1972, we have strived to enrich our community and help young people to not only become better players but better citizens.
“I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the club’s history and to those who will contribute to our future plans. I would also like to thank Ricky, Copart, and all other club sponsors for their continued support, which is integral to the success of Saintfield United.”
Ricky McCaughran, General Manager at Copart Belfast, added:
“With our Belfast Operation Centre only three miles away from the club grounds, our partnership with SUFC has been a great way for us to engage with the community and enhance our presence in the local area. The club continues to go from strength-to-strength and we’re looking forward to seeing that development continue.”
