As part of our ongoing Copart Cares 💙 CSR commitment to caring about communities and good causes, Bedford teammates have donated towards All Nations Church’s ‘Christmas in a Box’ appeal.
Copart’s Head Office in Wootton has proudly supported the Christmas in a Box appeal for several years, and this year they joined forces with teammates from our new Customer Excellence Centre in Franklin Court, Bedford.
Teammates filled boxes with donations of food essentials, as well as seasonal treats like Christmas Puddings and Selection Boxes, which will make a real difference to local people in crisis this year.
The donation boxes were delivered to All Nations Church, who support the work of the Bedford Foodbank by providing local people in crisis with Christmas food boxes.
Copart also made a financial donation towards the appeal, which will enable All Nations Church to purchase further food items and create even more Christmas Boxes for the local community.
Last year, the Christmas in a Box appeal enabled All Nations Church to distribute over 860 boxes, reaching over 2,100 people in the Bedford area.
There are over 2,000 Foodbanks across the UK, who have all seen demand surge this year. The Bedford branch alone has seen a 30% increase in people in financial hardship and they are currently providing emergency food parcels to over 800 people each month.
“Christmas can be a very difficult time for people living in extreme financial vulnerability, so we hope that both our physical and financial donations will help All Nations Church and the Bedford Foodbank to meet increasing demand from local families in need this Christmas. We’re pleased to show our support to this worthy cause and play a part in caring for our community.” – Jane Pocock, Managing Director of Copart UK & Ireland
