Copart’s Colin Ralph Competes at Cadwell Park

by | Jun 10, 2021

Copart’s Colin Ralph was back behind the wheel of his Mallock MK16 last weekend, as the 2021 Classic Clubman’s season headed to Cadwell Park.

The home-based Vehicle Image Engineer has been sponsored by Copart since 2018 and has previously taken part in the HSCC Classic Clubman’s Championships and the HSCC Legends of Brands Hatch Superprix.

With the Copart logo proudly displayed on the side of his car and trailer, Colin always enjoys having the opportunity to explain to people who we are and what we do.

During the first races in Snetterton (Norfolk) in April, Colin enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, finishing 4th in class and 6th overall in Race 2. He was also the recipient of a BMTR Avon tyre, awarded to drivers who excel themselves during this year’s Classic Clubman’s races, and was praised for representing ‘the spirit of Clubman’s.’

Last weekend, the season headed to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire, and it was another great day on the tracks for Colin.

Colin said: “After qualifying towards the back of the grid, I was held up at the start of the 1st race by a stalling car, but after avoiding that, my car performed well, and I finished 5th in class. I had a great start in race 2 and made up the two seconds I needed to finish 4th in class.”

Despite a challenging track, which Colin describes as ‘undulating and twisty’, it proved to be one of his best performances so far –  plus, there was another unexpected win in store!

“My best lap was a 1:41.9 with an average of 101.5 mph, which is the best I’ve driven the car.” said Colin. “No trophy yet, but there was a raffle for another Avon race car tyre, and I won that, so I have two new tyres now!”

Colin won another Avon race car tyre at Cadwell Park

The next race weekend is at Mallory Park, Leicestershire over the weekend of the 18th-19th September.

“It was great to see the Copart logo back out on the Classic Clubman’s circuit last weekend. Helping teammates like Colin, and the O’Dell Racing team, achieve their racing ambitions is just one of many things we do to support and celebrate our teammates and communities as part of our ongoing Copart Cares campaign, from grass roots football to local events.”
