As supply chains have been under increasing pressure throughout the challenges of the past year, we listened to our members and customers challenges around sourcing parts. To make it easier for our members to source and buy much needed parts for repairs we have launched our dedicated parts auctions.
We have held these dedicated parts auctions monthly since the July launch, and so far we’ve seen a great take up from our members.
Buying parts from our used car parts auctions couldn’t be easier:
- Saving time by sourcing all parts in one dedicated auction.
- Door to door deliveries available to make it easy for you to get the parts they need
- Saving money on great value used parts at a fraction of the cost of buying new parts, helping to keep your repair costs down.
- Convenience of bundled parts will allow them to source a number of parts all at once.
- Buy It Now available on selected bundles, enabling instant purchasing of needed parts.
Feeding the Green Parts Market
Reclaimed and recycled parts is a hot topic in the salvage industry, and Copart have been one of the biggest contributors to the green parts market for some time already.
We regularly discuss with our customers in the total loss and claims sector about how green parts fit into the market, and there is an important focus on the integrity of these parts. That’s why we select the right parts that are suitable for auction. Our members are buying vehicles from our auctions that are repairable and can make these repairs at leisure, therefore making the use of green parts a very viable option.
Our U-Pull-It and Breaker Bid 4 U services help a wider audience make good use of recycled parts. U-Pull-It, has locations in York and Inverkeithing where people can come in and remove parts off vehicles. As for our Breaker Bid 4 U service, once a vehicle is purchased it is then held in one of our Operation Centres so the member can come in and break the vehicle within a safe and controlled environment.
These are additional services that some people may not even know that Copart offers, but behind the scenes we have been supporting the repair network and feeding the green parts market for a long time.
As well as a growing desire within the industry to use green parts, the parts market in general always prospers during times of economic downturn and there will be increased interest in buying parts to do up vehicles in the most cost-effective way.
We’ll continue offer the necessary services and technology at Copart to support this demand and will continually be looking for ways to extend and improve these services for both our members and sellers.
