We’re delighted that Copart UK & Ireland’s Managing Director, Jane Pocock, has been recognised in Autocar’s Great Women in the British Car Industry Top 100.
The annual event, which is now in its fifth year, recognises key women and their achievements in the automotive industry.
Jane was nominated in the Executive Category, for women who hold senior leadership roles across significant size businesses and are responsible for their direction and strategic success.
Jane joined Copart in 2019 from one of the UK’s leading online commercial vehicle leasing firms, Vans Direct, a business she took from a start-up in 2009 to its sale in 2019 to Vertu PLC. Prior to that she spent 17 years in senior leadership roles with the AA in both the UK and internationally.
Jane now leads Copart UK, its largest business division outside of the US, and is the first female Managing Director in this NASDAQ-listed company.
She has full responsibility for all areas of the UK business, currently employing over 1,100 people, which has grown from start-up to market leader in the UK.
Under her leadership, Copart UK became the first company within the vehicle remarketing industry to be awarded with the prestigious CCA Global Standard Accreditation by the Customer Contact Association. In her first year with the business, she has led the charge on securing 27 new business wins, gained substantial investment to propel growth and overseen a 19% increase in Copart UK’s buyer base – which is now in over 100 countries around the world.
A true testament to her relentless but positive leadership style, Jane has successfully steered Copart UK through the challenges of Covid-19, keeping the UK business fully operational throughout the pandemic.
Navigating the business adeptly through these entirely uncharted market conditions resulted in not only maintaining essential services required by the Insurance sector but positioned Copart UK perfectly to help customers as the ‘new normal’ dawned.
She continues to focus on Copart’s significant growth plans by maintaining exceptional service delivery whilst developing additional market leading solutions for Copart’s customers – all the while with a keen eye on Brexit.
“I’m delighted to have been nominated by Autocar for this award. It’s great to see a dedicated drive to promote and recognise women in the automotive industry. I am fortunate to have spent 30 years of my career in this sector and have enjoyed working alongside both men and women to recognise talent and mentor progress.” – Jane Pocock, Managing Director – Copart UK & Ireland
