We are looking to the future for our customers with a substantial plan of investments across the business, focussed on continuously improving our services and growing our capabilities.
This year alone we have invested significantly in our capabilities at our operation centres, the size of our fleet of transporters and our operational acreage, as well as bringing forward more unique enhanced technology to further enhance the digital journey for you and your customers and also our members.
42 new JCB Loaders
We have recently placed a build order for 42 JCB loaders in readiness for winter 2020 and are planning to double this number to support further customer demand into 2021. These loaders are critical in safely moving vehicles within our operation centres.
As a result, Copart are working closely on a build schedule with Watling JCB Limited – one of the largest JCB sole franchises in the world and specialists in construction and industrial machinery – to ensure the productivity gains and vehicle handling efficiencies are in place for that future demand.
A fleet of over 400 transporters
These plans complement our investment earlier this year in acquiring 150 new DAF and Volvo based purpose built multi-car transporters used to collect, deliver, and transport our customer’s vehicles across any part of the UK. The new Copart branded transporters begin to come into service this spring with the full 150 on the road by the autumn of 2021. These new transporters bring our total owned UK wide logistics fleet to over 400, providing our customers with access to the single most expansive salvage fleet in the country.
Continued expansion of our operational capabilities
We currently have around 210 acres of land in the pipeline that we are assessing and looking to add to our existing 462 acres of owned land across our UK network of operational centres, meaning we are closer to your customers. We’ve recently had validation on our planning application for 23 acres at our Bristol location, an important step in the planning process as it means that all of the required information has been supplied to the satisfaction of the councils planning department.
This application will now be subject to the planning officer’s review and decision; however this news represents a great step forward in securing more land to enable us to further improve the capacity and capability of our operations.
