On Friday 27th September 2019, Copart UK were proud to support the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Team-mates across our 15 UK locations organised bake sales, raffles and games, raising a total of over £2,000.
Although the majority of donations were collected through the baking and selling of cakes by our Copart team-mates, some also added their own personal touches to the day to raise additional funds.
Raffles were held at our Wootton Head Office, with prizes generously donated by local Bedfordshire businesses, and at our Peterlee Operations Centre, where the top prize was a huge Copart Teddy donated by General Manager, Kenny Mentz.
Creative skills were put to the test at our Sandwich Operations Centre, with a competition arranged by Office Manager Jacqueline Prior to decorate a gingerbread man in one minute.
And, at our Wolverhampton Operations Centre, Office Supervisor Stephanie Wooding sold handmade gin-bottle lights.
Macmillan Cancer Support, which was founded in 1911 as the Society for the Prevention and Relief of Cancer, is one of the largest British charities. It provides specialist health care, information and both emotional and financial support to people affected by cancer.
The annual Macmillan Coffee Morning, which was first launched in 1990, is now Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event and over the years it has helped to raise over £200 million.
Jo Ferguson, Head of UK Human Resources, said: “Copart UK has proudly supported the Macmillan Coffee Morning for many years. The event provides a fantastic opportunity for all our Operations Centres across the country to come together for the day, despite geographical distance, with a common goal of raising funds for a great cause. Our team-mates always show great enthusiasm for this annual event, coming up with a range of creative fundraising ideas and actively supporting our Copart Values”
